Identification: This type of sub-menu item consists of offering drawings, charts, maps, figures, or texts that students identify elements or concepts requested you. It is a way to bring into play the recognition by the student. Preconditions are that the figures are either clear or elaborate and that these are plug-in, or an essential part of the item, i.e., that drawing, chart, etc., depends on understanding the item and the student response.
Item identification can develop in a dual mode: listing the names whose status you want to be identified or traced, or pointing out the parties whose name or function must be identified. The development of this type of sub-menu item involves considering the following points:
 Item must be clear and readable.
 Instruction should be worded with absolute clarity.
 Spaces for answers should be placed on the right, in avoiding make identifications on the same graphic or text that occurs.
 Due a minimum of five IDs in any of the cycles.
 Each identification is given the value of a point.
An example of this type of sub-menu item noted then:
Instruction: Names of geometric figures appear in the right-hand column. In the left column, geometric figures which contain drawings. Note the parentheses, the number of drawing as appropriate to each of the geometric figures. (5 pts.)
